The Europe Regional Medical Command serves U.S. Army Europe, U.S. European Command, U.S. Africa Command, and U.S Central Command Warriors serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. To positively impact Soldier and Family health and provide a trained, ready and capable medical force, ERMC’s 17 Army Medical Treatment Facilities in Germany, Italy and Belgium, partner with providers at more than 40 Host Nation hospitals. Our vision is to be the Army’s premier medical team, saving, lives and fostering healthy and resilient people. Host Nation Preferred Providers at more than 40 local hospitals in Germany, Italy and Belgium do everything they can to make U.S. military personnel and their Families feel at home. Host Nation Patient Liaisons assist our beneficiaries while they are in a local hospital or on initial outpatient visits. Our goal is to integrate host nation specialized care with our military clinics and help beneficiaries feel comfortable wherever they seek medical care. About usERMC headquarters and our outlying Medical Treatment Facilities focus on increased access and continuity of care, responding to individual beneficiary and community medical needs, and delivering quality care following a Primary Care Manager and PCM team model. ERMC Action PlanAmong our many programs and initiatives are: ERMC Patient and Family Centered Care initiatives Involve beneficiaries in medical decision-making, empower patients, improve patient and staff satisfaction, and build trust as we move toward the Army Surgeon General’s “Medical Home” model. mTBI and orthopedic tele-health capabilities have been established at Landstuhl and in Bavaria. We promote TRICARE Online as an excellent option for making medical appointments 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, by providing a healthy schedule of primary care appointments. Medical facility upgrades, including recapitalization of Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, construction of the Vicenza Enhanced Health Services Center, new behavioral health and mTBI centers in Bavaria, and improvements at Katterbach, Vilseck and Stuttgart clinics. Increased behavioral health and mTBI outreach for redeploying Soldiers and their Families. ERMC has added 64 contract behavioral health providers and 80 mTBI contract providers. Enhanced provider, clinic and staff efficiency by leveraging technology and increasing customer service skills. Caring for America’s WarriorsLandstuhl Regional Medical Center, the largest U.S. military hospital outside of the U.S., is known for its care of America’s Warriors. Whether from Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, Europe or at little known remote sites, our military personnel, families, and others receive quality care at Landstuhl.
