About Search

NSF uses two search engines to handle most of the searches on our site. The "NSF Web Site" search uses a Google search, while the News, Events, Discoveries, and Publications searches are handled by the Verity K2 server. The collection tabs on the main search page make it easy for users to repeat their searches among the various collections.

UPDATES AND AVAILABILITY

Each of the collections is reindexed overnight. The collections may be unavailable while reindexing is taking place. The Awards search is offline for several hours on Saturday while the data is reloaded.
