RALEIGH, N.C. -- There is just one week remaining to register for disaster assistance for losses suffered as a result Tropical Storm Nicole.
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Five weeks after the federal disaster declaration for Tropical Storm Nicole, nearly $5.6 million in assistance has flowed to residents in 14 eastern North Carolina counties. Of that figure:
ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- While state-federal Disaster Recovery Centers – the most visible aspect of the response – closed on Saturday, Federal Emergency Management Agency staff is still in eastern North Carolina, working with state and local emergency managers to assist people who were affected by Tropical Storm Nicole. FEMA's telephone Helpline is still available seven days a week so that North Carolinians can register for federal assistance, learn the status of their application or get help understanding correspondence they receive from FEMA.
