How do you make sure the gear Soldiers could use in the future will do what it's made to do and hold up in the field? Have Soldiers test it. That's just what 734th Ordnance Company (EOD) Soldiers are doing at Fort Bliss during Army Warfighter Assessment 17.1 -- they're putting counter-IED robots through their paces.

The AWA is the Chief of Staff of the Army's annual capstone exercise that is a multi-echelon training exercises which includes joint and multinational forces in live, virtual and constructive domains.

During Level II training, Soldiers learn advanced grappling and boxing, how to extract an individual from a vehicle, police take downs, how to properly cuff and search a person and other advanced combatives techniques.
