  1. This Sunday we take time to honor our veterans and recognize the sacrifices they have bestowed upon our nation. It is because of these great men and women that we enjoy the freedoms we so deeply cherish. I give my utmost appreciation to all of our veterans, and thank you for defending and protecting this great country!

    • Please introduce a bill that would make Warren Buffet's Winds of Change plan law. 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. 2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void effective 12/31/12. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congressmen/women made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work. Thanks, and I look forward to heraring back from you with regards to this topic.

    • Hey Todd, Looks like our vacation is coming to an end. I used mine to read up on some of the bills that you will be voting on in the near future. One thing that really troubles me is how you guys do not mind gambling with the future of American's. For instance the fiscal cliff. Is it really so bad that we do not spend more money on weapons. How many nuclear weapons do we need. How many hundreds of billions of dollars in weapons do we already have stockpiled in Israel, as well as around the world. Why is it O.K. to send half the country to the unemployment line, but, not people who have worked for these military equipment manufacturers. Nor the military manufacturers themselves. As, I told you in my visit to your office, our unlimited, unconditional aid to Israel is destroying any hope we have ever had of peace in the ME. The State Department recently issued a human rights report on Israel and the Occupied Territories that outlines a devastating account of Israel’s human rights violations against civilians, most of which involved weapons that we gave them. Are these not violations by Israel,of the U.S. Foreign Assistance Act and the U.S. Arms Export Control Act? How do we point our fingers and call some terrorist while overlooking others? Honestly, I see very few in Congress as being man enough to stand up for what is right. As bad as it will be, I think it is too late to worry about the fiscal cliff. You said yourself the problem is that we are trying to build on a crumbled foundation. Maybe instead of trying to avoid it, would be to go full speed ahead straight for it. Oh well, I know you really don't care what I think. I just wanted to let you know that I am still here. And, that I have a lot more free time to keep up with how you are representing the people of the 9th district, even the ones that did not vote for you! Kathy

Sir, with all due respect, please work on reversing military retiree insurance (Tri-Care) moving from Tri-Care Prime to Standard in this and the next session. With Obamacare, I will barely be able to afford Tri-Care prime. If we are moved to standard, I believe we will be less covered than Medicare and pay a lot more for it. I have over 20 years in the Army (Infantry) and 3 combat tours. I am more concerned about my brothers than myself. I never get sick!! Give 'em a break and help with this before April of 2013.. Some things are bigger than $$$$. Since we couldn't get the liberals voted out, I guess we want them to play our game plan now. Thanks a bunch, sir in advance!

  4. Today the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it has guaranteed 20 million home loans through the loan program that was started in 1944 as part of the G.I. Bill. In March this year, I was proud to help pass H.R. 3298: Homes for Heroes Act, which would provide further housing relief to Vets through programs like this.
