Ladysmith, WI -- State and federal disaster recovery officials announced today that the Disaster Recovery Center on the Mount Senario College Campus at 1500 College Avenue West in Ladysmith will close this Friday, October 4. Beginning on Monday, October 7, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will open an SBA Workshop in the same space to assist people applying for low-interest disaster assistance loans.

Ladysmith, WI -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is now providing crisis counseling and legal services as part of the assistance made available by the major disaster declaration signed by President Bush on September 10, 2002.

Public Assistance - Dollars Approved

Public Assistance (PA): Disaster grant assistance available for communities to quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Emergency Work (Categories A-B): Work that must be performed to reduce or eliminate an immediate threat to life, protect public health and safety, and to protect improved property that is significantly threatened due to disasters or emergencies declared by the President

Permanent Work (Categories C-G): Work that is required to restore a damaged facility, through repair or restoration, to its pre-disaster design, function, and capacity in accordance with applicable codes and standards
