The generosity of donors allows the USO to provide a touch
of home to service men and women. We are continually improving and expanding
our programs to meet the changing needs of the troops and their families.
As you plan your gift to the USO, you may want to consider
underwriting a specific USO program or service, such as:
Trevor Romain
The USO and The Trevor Romain Company and Foundation work
together to support the millions of military children around the world to help
them deal with the stresses of military life. The partnership consists of a
“With You All the Way!” Deployment Kit, Memory Boxes to deal with the loss of a
family member and tours to military bases to educate and entertain military
children.

United Through Reading® Military Program
The
USO partnership with United Through Reading® allows our deployed service members the ability to read
their kids a bedtime book and virtually be there, even when they can’t be there
in person. Service men and women read a book aloud while being recorded on DVD
for their child. This service is available at many USO centers in airports,
community locations, military medical facilities, and overseas bases. The DVD
and book are mailed to the child and family back home. All recording equipment,
books, packing and shipping materials are supplied by the USO.

USO2GO
USO2GO delivers the USO’s most popular services to troops in
remote and restricted areas, from video games and equipment, to snacks, phone
cards and sports equipment. Developed with feedback from deployed troops, USO2GO kits change as the needs of men and women in uniform change. Units can
select eight variations that can be customized to fit the needs of individual
units stationed on Forward Operating Bases (FOBs). More than 400 USO2GO’s have
been delivered to Iraq and Afghanistan since the inception of the program.

Operation Phone® Home
USO Operation Phone Home® delivers prepaid international
phone cards to deployed troops free of charge. One our most
requested items from deployed service members, the phone cards are distributed
through USO centers both overseas and in the U.S. at no charge. Since the
program began, more than 2.2 million phone cards have been distributed.
