Description Two high-speed vessels support Department of Defense activities worldwide. Both ships are under long-term chart to Military Sealift Command.
Westpac Express (HSV 4676) suppports the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Force transporting cargo and mlitary personnel between Okinawa, Japan and other ports in the Far East.
Swift (HSV 2) is used to transport U.S. military personnel and cargo within theaters of operation around the world. Swift provides a capability to support emerging operational concepts including the Global Fleet Station.

Features HSVs are fast, cost-effective means of transporting personnel, vehicles and equipment.
Westpac Express can transport up to 970 Marines plus vehicles and equipment. Swift is capable of carrying up to 500 short tons, including cargo and a maximum of 305 passengers. |
