  6. Could Water-based Sodium-ion batteries hold the answer?

Thanks to EARTH-The Operators' Manual for the post.

Who has heard of this and what do you think?
Do we finally have an affordable green energy storage option for renewable energy? The water-based Sodium-Ion battery may hold the answer. http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/5948/solar-energy-saved-salt-battery

  8. The GLOBE Program Office (GPO) works with CLACE as a stakeholder in their program and assists in many ways, including reviewing their lesson plans.

In these photos,GPO Science and Education Team members, Dr. Sarah Tessendorf and Kristin Wegner, participated in the kick off event for the upcoming school year with the CLACE after school program "Nuestra Tierra Dinamica.

At the event, Sarah and Kristin trained the CLACE facilitators about the GLOBE Atmosphere Investigation and how to teach elementary school students about air, weather, and climate."

  10. The phrase, "once in a blue moon" will mean something on 31 August.

The GLOBE Program's USA Federal Sponsor National Aeronautics and Space Administration - NASA shares fun facts about the "Blue Moon" ...

According to modern folklore, a Blue Moon is the second full moon in a calendar month. Usually months have only one full moon, but occasionally a second one sneaks in. And, full moons are separated by 29 days, while most months are 30 or 31 days long; so it is possible to fit two full moons in a single month. This happens every two and a half years, on average.

Be sure to take photos of the blue moon where you live and share them with us Facebook!

The GLOBE Program hopes you will join us in doing just
    that.

  12. We want to send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Neil Armstrong -- the first man to walk on the moon. Mr. Armstrong cultivated the love of learning through exploration.

What can you tell your students about the mission to the moon that will inspire them to explore their world and beyond?
