The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency has received preliminary reports of storm damage in Hinds County around the city of Byram and Rankin County in the city of Pearl in Central Mississippi. There have been no injuries reported.  County emergency managers are assessing damages in those areas and MEMA will provide additional details as they become available. The public is asked to avoid damaged areas due to downed power lines and debris on roadways.

 

MEMA is also asking residents to monitor local weather reports through the night as severe weather continues to move across the state.
