  6. Today, we pause to remember the tragic events that occurred eleven years ago on September 11, 2001 and the lives that were lost. We honor the brave officers, emergency responders, and other employees of state and local government agencies, who responded to the attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City and perished as a result. We honor the patriots on board Flight 93 that took heroic and noble action on that day to save fellow Americans. To all those who lost their lives that day, we will always remember their sacrifice and may God bring comfort to their families.

  9. On this anniversary of the epic 2011 flood, we remember not only the devastation and the destruction, but how our Northeastern Pennsylvania community came together to help family, friends, neighbors, and strangers in that time of need. I know I will never forget the aftermath of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee and I will continue to support federal natural disaster assistance today, tomorrow, and in the days to come.
