On Monday, August 15, United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk traveled to El Paso to deliver the keynote address at the 8th Annual Border Security Conference co-hosted by Congressman Silvestre Reyes and the University of Texas at El Paso.
Ambassador Kirk discussed U.S.-Mexico trade issues and how passing pending trade agreements with South Korea, Panama, and Colombia will support jobs for families in the Lone Star State. He also discussed the need to renew strengthened Trade Adjustment Assistance and the expired U.S. trade preference programs. Following his remarks, Ambassador Kirk will took questions from the audience.
