District News: On February 16, 2012, the Eastern District of Michigan, United States Marshal Robert M. Grubbs, provided the Special Deputation Oath of Office to 13 Detroit Police Department, Special Response Team members. After a recent increase of shooting deaths over a 3 day span in Detroit, MI the Chief of Police for Detroit requested that the 13 members be assigned to the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team (DFAT) for 3 months. This assignment brings the total number of Detroit Police Officers assigned to DFAT to 25 officers. With the addition of these officers DFAT has added 2 more fugitive teams on the streets of Detroit and will see increased arrests for 2012.  Read More
