Beneficial rainfall is forecast across much of the drought-stricken Southern Plains over the next couple days. This is partly in response to a cold front pushing through the northern and central U.S. which is ushering in the coldest temperatures of the new autumn season. Several inches of rainfall will be possible through Saturday across parts of Texas and Oklahoma.
