Pentagon Community Observes Anniversary of 9/11

On Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the Pentagon Community gathered to reflect on a day that changed the course of history and the lives of 25,000 civilians and military service members who work in the defense headquarters.

Hosted by Mr. Michael L. Rhodes, Director of Administration and Management, the observance featured remarks by Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral James Winnefeld, Jr. All leaders honored those who perished and their families and praised the bravery of first responders at the Pentagon, New York City, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. "[9/11] is a painful memory, but it is a necessary one, as it reminds all of us why we must never get complacent, why we must never doubt the importance of the work that we do here, and why we can never fail, every day, to give it our all," said Secretary Panetta.

DA&M Listens to the Voice of its Customers

In support of the 2012-2017 DA&M Strategic Plan's On-Boarding Pilot, the Voice of the Customer (VOC) Team recently conducted focus groups to gather information from hiring managers and new employees to identify improvement opportunities for the DA&M on-boarding process. Participants provided input on their experiences during the on-boarding process and shared success stories, challenges, and proposed solutions.
