Welcome to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Division. The Nashville Field Division encompasses the states of Tennessee and Alabama, from Music City USA to the Gulf Coast. The Nashville Field Division is responsible for enforcing federal laws pertaining to gun crime, arson, explosives and alcohol/tobacco diversion. ATF is also responsible for regulating and investigating private industry relating to firearms and explosives.

The dedicated men and women of ATF in the Nashville Field Division and throughout the country is comprised of special agents, industry operations investigators, forensic auditors, certified fire investigators, certified explosive specialists and a variety of administrative/support staff.

ATF is committed to reducing violent crime and keeping our neighborhoods safe. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents focus investigative efforts on violent offenders, armed career criminals, gun traffickers and gangs. Our industry operations investigators work to ensure that firearms and explosives are manufactured handled, stored and sold in a safe but lawful manner. We work in partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies throughout Tennessee and Alabama to accomplish these goals.

Investigating gun crime, firearms trafficking, criminal bombings and suspected acts of arson are all vital aspects of the ATF mission. ATF’s Nashville Field Division special agents combat arson and explosives-related crimes by conducting intense proactive investigations while working in partnerships with local/state fire investigators and police bomb squads.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Field Division and the Tennessee State Bomb and Arson Section announced a combined reward of $5,000 for anyone who has information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person or persons responsible for the arson fire on Dec. 25, 2011 at Specialty Arms II, 184 Old Nashville Highway in LaVergne, Tenn. GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - Lynce Trey Ball Foster, 34, of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., was sentenced to serve 622 months (51.8 years) in prison in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Greeneville, by the Honorable J. Ronnie Greer, U.S. District Judge. Foster was convicted at trial in February 2009, of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, multiple counts of distribution of cocaine, using a firearm while distributing cocaine, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Elizabethton Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

GREENEVILLE, Tenn — Brandon Douglas Honeycutt, 26, Elizabethton, Tenn., was sentenced today in U.S. District Court, to serve 15 years in prison, by the Honorable J. Ronnie Greer, U.S. District Judge. The sentence was the result of a guilty plea by Honeycutt on May 5, 2011, to a federal grand jury indictment filed on November 9, 2010, charging him with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. At the time of his arrest by the Elizabethton Police Department, Honeycutt had been convicted of nearly 50 offenses in Carter County. He was on parole for multiple burglaries in Carter County at the time of this offense.More »

Canary, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama, announced today that Chad Edwin Langford, age 39, of Butler County, Alabama, was sentenced in federal district court on May 12, 2011, to over 15 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and being involved in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. ATF National Response Team Activated to Hoover, Alabama

Twenty-Six Indicted For Methamphetamine Conspiracy

A federal grand jury in Chattanooga returned a 38-count indictment on December 8, 2009, against twenty-six individuals of Bledsoe, Grundy, Hamilton, Marion, and Sequatchie Counties, for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and to acquire and possess pseudoephedrine, a precursor chemical used to manufacture methamphetamine, as well as numerous substantive counts stemming from the manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine, the illegal possession of firearms, and maintaining “drug houses,” located in various local counties in Tennessee.
