altEmily Therese Cloyd serves as the Public Participation and Engagement Coordinator for the National Climate Assessment. In this role, Emily coordinates the development and implementation of the NCA stakeholder engagement strategy, assists with the development and implementation of the NCA communications strategy, facilitates the planning and implementation of Assessment-related workshops, contributes to the production of Assessment-related products, and serves as a liaison between the Assessment and USGCRP research elements. Prior to joining the National Climate Assessment staff, she coordinated the carbon cycle and ecosystems research elements at USGCRP (2007-2010). Emily previously served as a Dean John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research (2006). She holds a Master's degree in Conservation Biology (State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry) and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Biology (University of Michigan), and is currently pursuing a PhD in Environmental and Natural Resources Policy at SUNY-ESF. Her research interests lie at the intersection of science and policy, studying how science and scientific information are used to support natural resources management and policy decisions.
