Welcome to the Pacific Region

The US Army in the Pacific is a large and complex command which includes 43 countries, 20 territories and possessions, 10 US territories, and five of the world’s largest foreign armies. The Pacific Region is one of the most diverse – geographically, economically, politically, and culturally. The strategic importance of the Pacific is highlighted by the placement of all branches of the military services -- right here on the island of Oahu. Opportunities abound in the Pacific!

Headquarters and Mission

IMCOM-Pacific Region is headquartered at Fort Shafter, Hawaii and has garrisons in Alaska, Japan, Korea and Hawaii. Our workforce of military, civilians, local nationals and contractors proudly serve over 105,000 Soldiers and Families. IMCOM’s mission is to provide the Army the installation capabilities and services to support expeditionary operations in a time of persistent conflict and to provide a quality of life for Soldiers and Families consistent with their service. In IMCOM-Pacific we are a service organization – it is our privilege to serve Soldiers and their Families.

Our job is to sustain our Soldiers, Families, and Civilians; prepare Soldiers for success in current operations; perform reset operations to ensure future readiness; and transform to meet the demands of the 21st century. We accomplish this by: improving family housing and Soldier barracks, community facilities, and training facilities; continuing responsible stewardship of our environment and resources; revitalizing our Soldiers and Families through the implementation of the Soldier Family Action Plan; offering child care, youth services, religious support, community recreation and community services; operating Soldier Family Assistance Centers and Warrior Transition Units; and focusing on the “voice of our customer” to ensure we are meeting their needs.
