U.S. Marshals and Sheriff’s Office Arrest Man Wanted for Rape and Child Porn Charges

Pensacola, FL – The U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office TAC Team captured an Alabama fugitive yesterday who failed to appear on charges of 2nd Degree Rape and Possession of Pornographic Material of a Minor. U.S. Marshals were conducting surveillance of a residence where Dion Demetrius Taylor was reportedly hiding out on Sioux Trail in Pensacola. The Marshals observed Taylor, 33, drive away from the home in a large SUV with an unidentified woman and three children. Because Taylor has an extensive history of violence, the Marshals were apprehensive to stop Taylor for fear of the safety of the woman and children. The Task Force called for aid from the ECSO TAC Team while they followed Taylor into the Sunrise Apartment complex on Fairfield Highway. Task Force officers and ECSO units including a K9 surrounded Taylor who gave up. Upon questioning Taylor said he was Dion “Williams” from Chicago. Sometime later before being brought to jail he confessed that he was the wanted Taylor.

Inspector Dominic Guadagnoli stated that, “We knew his (Taylor’s) propensity to be violent; so we called for assistance from the TAC Team who showed up in force immediately. I am convinced that is why he made the smart decision not to flee or fight,” said Guadagnoli.

According to reports from Tuscaloosa, AL where the alleged crime took place; Taylor lured a fifteen year old female into a residence promising her marijuana. He then supposedly raped her and videotaped it on a cell phone. Afterwards he also reportedly had other men do the same and videotaped that occurrence as well.

Taylor was booked into the Escambia County Jail and also charged with Resisting Arrest Without Violence for providing false information to officers. The Alabama warrant has no bond so he will be held in Escambia County as a fugitive from justice.
