Mansfield, OH – Early this morning, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division tracked down wanted fugitive Demondray Brooks.

Brooks was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department on felony warrants for domestic violence, having weapons under disability, aggravated menacing, drug trafficking, and receiving stolen property. These warrants are the result of an incident that occurred on Monday night, when Mansfield Police Officers responded to a domestic violence call on the 100 block of Glenwood Heights. While officers were talking to the victim at the front door, the suspect walked down the stairs and pointed a handgun at them, then ran back upstairs and jumped out a window and fled on foot. A search of the residence produced three handguns, one of which was stolen, ten bindles of heroin, and additional stolen property. Brooks was also wanted for an assault that occurred on Tuesday on the 200 block of S. Main Street, which put a Bellville man in the hospital.

Task Force Officers and Mansfield Police located Brooks back at the 100 block residence on Glenwood Heights. As Officers searched the residence, Brooks jumped out a front upstairs window landing on the roof of the porch, where he was taken into custody without further incident.

Mansfield Police Chief, Dino Sgambellone, responded to the news of the arrest by saying, “The ability to resolve this peacefully is a testament of the Marshals Service and the officers assigned to the fugitive task force. I thank them for their continued service and hard work.”
