TRICARE For Life

When using TRICARE For Life (TFL), you do not pay any enrollment fees, but you must pay Medicare Part B monthly premiums. Your Part B premium is based on your income. For more information about Part B premiums visit www.medicare.gov or call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY: 1-800-325-0778).

Your out-of-pocket costs are determined by the service you receive and whether or not it's covered by Medicare and TRICARE.

• For services covered by both Medicare and TRICARE, you'll pay nothing.
• For services covered by TRICARE, but not Medicare, TRICARE is the primary payer.
• For services covered by Medicare, but not TRICARE, the Medicare deductible and cost sharing applies.  
• For services not covered by TRICARE or Medicare, you are responsible for the entire cost.

Note: If getting care overseas (excluding U.S. Territories), you'll have the same costs as TRICARE Standard Overseas.
