COMMERCE TRADE OFFICIAL TO LEAD EDUCATION TRADE MISSION TO INDIA
21 U.S. colleges and universities to explore opportunities for growth and partnerships
WASHINGTON – Suresh Kumar, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Promotion and Director General for the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, will lead a U.S. Department of Commerce education-focused trade mission to India, October 10-15. The delegation includes representatives from 21 U.S. colleges and universities who will meet with Indian partners and explore opportunities for growth.
“This trade mission builds on President Obama and Prime Minister Singh’s goal to advance the U.S.-India global partnership in education, and signals the strong commitment of both countries to build partnerships that help foster educational and economic cooperation,” Kumar said.
The colleges and universities on the mission represent accredited graduate programs and four-year under-graduate programs from 14 states. The delegation will travel to New Dehli, Chennai, and Mumbai, three of the top cities for recruiting Indian students to the United States. Delegates will participate in student fairs, education sector briefings, and networking events in each city.
