Spelling Suggestion

Science Accelerator will suggest words and phrases when a misspelling is detected. You'll see this in the upper left corner of the results page. Simply select the suggested term and a new search will be performed with the corrected query information.

(√)ing, Exporting and Printing Results

These options allow you to view and/or edit your (√)ed results; e-mail results to yourself, friends, and/or colleagues; and print your results.

‘Show only (√) Items’ and ‘Clear all (√) Items’

Checking the box next to any result will add it to the list of ‘Your (√) Items’. These will be available for viewing on ‘Your (√) Items’ page during your entire browser session unless you deselect them or choose ‘Clear all (√) Items’. From the ‘Your (√) Items’ page, select to return to your original result list.

Exporting Results

Result export options include e-mailing your results, exporting citations and printing. If you use a bibliographic reader such as EndNote, RefWorks or Bib Tex, you may download ‘Your (√) Items’ results into your citation manager via an RIS formatted download. Your citation manager should automatically display the results downloaded.

E-mail Results

The E-mail Your Results link allows you to e-mail a set of results to yourself, friends, and/or colleagues.

Citations – Export results into a citation manager

The ‘Export Citations link only appears on the ‘Your (√) Items’ page.

To print results, use your browser print option.

RSS Feed

The Science Accelerator RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) allows users to stay up-to-date with current communications. RSS employs an XML-based structure that includes a title, date, brief description, and a link to the full text of content. Feeds can be read through a feed reader, or aggregator, that often can be downloaded for free. More about RSS

The 'e-mail' feature allows you to share the page you are viewing by sending an e-mail directly to someone.

Sharing a Page

When selecting this option, you receive a variety of mechanisms to choose from in order to 'share'. These mechanisms are made available by and managed by a private-sector vendor (AddThis).

The 'share' option is provided for your convenience. Some of the mechanisms for sharing may require you to create an account. Before using the various mechanisms, please check the terms of use and privacy policies in order to understand related practices and policies.

The Widget provides, in one fell swoop, the capability to search Science Accelerator, access RSS feeds, and access the capabilities to create and manage Alerts.

You can place (install) the widget on a Web page of your choice either by copying and pasting the HTML code into the 'receiving' page or by selecting the 'Get Widget Options' link. This link goes to the Web page of the private-sector vendor (Widgetbox) that provides the capability for 'getting'/installing the widget.
