The Forum will focus on the implementation and enforcement of the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008. Local consumers will also speak about their experiences in accessing mental health care and addiction treatment. Congressman Van Hollen will be joined by the co-authors of the legislation, former Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-RI) and former Congressman Jim Ramstad (R-MN), as well as by Congressman Jim Moran (D-VA) and Congressman Paul Tonko (D-NY). They will also be joined by mental health and addiction advocates, local consumers, academic experts, and local, state, and federal officials. |
