Curiosity looks around:

After devoting August to the arrival of Curiosity on Mars, it seems appropriate to start September with one of the early views the rover has given us of the landing area. This video is a panorama of the landscape around the spot where Curiosity touched down, including Mount Sharp, the planned final destination for Curiosity. YouTube link

On September 15 in 1885, psychoanalyst Karen Horney (born Danielson) is born in Hamburg, Germany, the daughter of a sea captain. She was an early rebel against strict Freudian theory: she suggested that environmental and social conditions - as opposed to the biological drives that Freud emphasized - influenced the development of personality and the formation of disorders or neuroses.
