My geekdom is complete. I actually watched as much of #io2012  as I could during my lunch hour. Found myself actually verbalizing ooohs and aaaahs and even a squee!

Why the Transformer over the Nexus? Just asking because I'm debating which to get and the Nexus 7 will probably do everything I want, but it's not exactly what I want... (S3 coming my way also, as soon as I get a check from a freelance client!)

VOTE NOW for your favorite smarrtphone: http://www.phonedog.com/rankings Aaron gets some hands-on time with Google's Nexus 7 tablet, designed by ASUS. Featuring a 7-inch HD (1280x800) display, it offers Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box. It's still early, but so far, it looks to be a bit more fluid than Ice Cream Sandwich. It's a very quick hands-on due to the number of people that were crowding (read: attacking) the display units (not to mention we'll have full coverage very shortly thanks to Google's generosity). It's coming to Google Play in mid-July for $199. Stay tuned for more! Jelly Bean will be 60fps throughout the OS.  Triple buffering for the CPU and GPU to run in parallel without waiting for each other.  Improved touch responsiveness.  Performance monitoring with Systrace.  MUCH quicker and smoother animations... wow.  I'm sold.

Is it true that many are already preregistered to GoogleIO and have signed some NDA to not spill the beans?

Does someone know how many tickets will remain available for the coding contest due to start next week?

As heard before, there was an announcement due this week. http://goo.gl/ArY6k
But this will not be apparently a coding contest.

+Jean Bezivin It's more helpful to go straight to the source rather than listen to the media which greatly exaggerates. There was one single comment made by a Google staff member that simply said "brush up on your coding skills". That's it. It made no mention of a coding contest. Then, media articles started speculating that maybe this meant there would be a coding content. Other media articles picked up on these articles and said that Google was hinting at a coding contest. Now that there's no mention of a coding contest, the media is claiming that Google has "changed course". If, by chance, there happens to be some sort of qualifications in place to validate that registrant is a developer, I'm sure the media will add another spin to this. Also, Elvis is alive.

So awesome. great youtube comment:

"Someday soon you'll be able to drive your Google down to the Google to buy some Google."
At Google I/O 2012, the Project Glass team took product demoing to a new level. Come with us and see how we spent the weeks leading up to the Google I/O demo ... living in the moment, doing Hangouts in Air, and freefalling with Glass.

Meh...if you don't want it...give it to someone that would use it.

You guys are frustrated that you didn't get the ADK. I get it. Didn't you know from last year that they usually give the ADK in the ADK class? I did know that. They gave one to everyone in the class. You didn't get one cause you didn't go. Don't be bitter that I have one. I went to the class and learned a lot. I also learned how cool this one is and how much better this one is than the last one. So I know how cool it is. You have my word. I will wait till IO is over to "rape" anyone.
