The serial number is on the back of the disc case or envelope:
If you registered online or purchased a product download, you can find your serial number in your Adobe account.
- Sign in to your Adobe account with your Adobe ID (your email address) and password.
Note: If you don't see your serial number, contact Customer Service. For example, older registrations for Macromedia-branded products don't appear in Adobe accounts.
The serial number is in the order confirmation email from Adobe Store and in your Adobe account. Sign in to your Adobe account, click My Adobe, and then click My Products. If you purchased the downloaded product from an authorized reseller, contact the reseller for assistance retrieving your serial number.
Serial numbers are provided after proof of eligibility is validated. If you need to submit your proof of eligibility to receive your serial number, see the instructions in the Education FAQ.
TIP: To use your software before you receive the serial number, select the installation option that allows you to install the product as a trial. You can use the serial number to convert it to the non-trial version later.

After you submit your proof of eligibility and it is validated, you receive an email with the serial number. You can also locate the serial number online.

The serial number or product activation code (PAC) for a volume license or server product is on the Licensing Account page of the Licensing website at http://licensing.adobe.com. Login information is sent to the contact person on the account.

If you are using CS5, it's possible that you have a serial number problem for one of the following reasons:
- Acrobat and Creative Suite products have different serial numbers, even though they are bundled together. Make sure that you use the Acrobat serial number when installing Acrobat and the Creative Suite serial number when installing Creative Suite products.
- Windows versions of Master Collection and Production Premium include 32-bit versions of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 and After Effects CS4. If you are installing the CS4 version, use the CS4 serial numbers that are provided.

When your trial ends, you are prompted to enter a serial number before you can continue using the product. It's necessary to purchase the product to obtain a serial number. Trials cannot be extended.
