Going through another set of shots we did yesterday, preparing for the upcoming jewelry workshop.
Soon will post a finished version of this Swarovski crystal necklace.  BTW, only two light sources where used for the shot.
Thinking to attend? Better hurry up, early bird price will expire in 5 days, and I think we'll have a class full even earlier:

 SKAGEN

Shoot this nice thin timekeeper using a trash can as a light modifier, just to prove the concept that anything will work in our studio:-)

Today I spent some time playing with various light modifiers, preparing for our upcoming Jewelry Photography workshop. This is one of the shots from many I've got.
Quick touch-up, almost as-is except cleaning dents and color adjustments.

BTW, less than a week left for early bird price (as well as few seats left), do not miss it! And yes, you can join us online too:

+Eje Gustafsson unfortunately the hangout was cancelled due to lack of interest. Surprising considering the amount of moaning there was when the weekly hangouts stopped. I guess its impossible to keep everyone happy.

Found your work online used by someone without your permission? There are few way to deal with it: get angry and blame a theft or be wise and ... check out this series of articles from +Alex Stepanov  about image theft:

Now folks, I am sure you have heard a good deal of those horrific stories where the images taken by say, photographer in Calgary all of a sudden turn up on the billboards in Turkey or when some enterp...

Unfortunately, with digital cameras (and phones) in the hands of the the masses, there can be a presumed "lesser" value on photography. It's the same mentality that prompts someone to think, "Why should I hire you when my nephew just got a perfectly swell camera for Christmas".  Some folks simply feel that if an image is "right there" on the internet, then justified ownership and usage is just a "right click" away. Once in awhile I find my images on sites and request that they be removed, but then again, who has time to be on constant patrol?

I recall a situation back in the day when illustration work was ripe. A well known Illustrator had used a well known Photographer's photo as reference for a project, but for reasons unknown, copied the image to a "T". It was a big campaign and the Photographer immediately recognized his work, resulting in the Illustrator and his agency client having to pay a hefty sum.

Times have changed, no doubt.

The Lighting Magician
Introduction
I am completely self taught. I don't know the rules, nor do I care about them. I don't follow the herd, I do it my way.
That’s turned out to be invaluable in what I do. It has allowed me to experiment, see outside the borders, challenge the authorities and create a stunning photography style that is crisp, sharp and crystal clear.

I’m inspired by progress and movement. I’m incredibly persistent and never take "less than perfect" for an answer. If I don't have the right tools, I'll build them myself. I like to make stuff happen.

My educational photography projects:
My e-books and video tutorials:

P.S Sorry to everyone who sent me an email with photography related questions and never got my answer. I simply can't answer to everyone, even if I'll work full day answering your questions.

Please submit your question to our forum:  Studio Photography Forum
