- PublicLast night, I dreamed I was writing. I dreamed this vividly enough that I was able to remember and write down what I "dream wrote" when I woke up. (Yes, it was usable quality.) This happens to me fairly often, when I spend some time writing before i go to bed, and when I think about what I'm writing as I fall asleep.
Does this ever happen to you?

I once dreamed a movement of a symphony. Seriously. (And I have training as a composer, so this was real.) It was really good. However, I couldn't remember a note of it when I awoke! ;-)

- PublicHere's a splendid photo by +Wayne Marinovich. He has a lot of nice photos. Go to his page and take a look.
Wayne Marinovich originally shared this post:
Fallow Deer silhouette
Taken in the last deer rut as I sat one cold morning and waited for something to happen. This fallow Deer stag just walked across in front of be as waited for the Red Deer to become active. He was watching a walker with a dog very carefully and didn't notice me for quit a while.

- PublicHas anyone here tried selling a photo e-Book through Kindle Direct Publishing?
I'd be interested to hear the details about the decisions you made, and your results, in terms of dealing with (or not dealing with) the costs per megabyte of file size through KDP Select.
Thank you.

+Mike Spinak for a photo book you're going to want to have your book formatted as a fixed-layout eBook.
Like a PDF, you'll have control of where each element lives on the page, but you'll also have searchable text, like a regular epub/mobi file. Though many eReading devices are able to read a PDF, most distribution options (Kindle, etc), require epub/mobi files (they may accept other file types for submission, but put them through an automated conversion process to create the epub/mobi file).
It sounds like the problem you experienced came from uploading your PDF through the Kindle conversion process, which would attempt to turn your file into a standard reflowable eBook. Fixed-layout has to be converted by hand into the necessary HTML/CSS file format.
Though another option is to use Apple's iBooks Author. Be sure to note that use of iBooks Author software means agreeing to only offer the resulting eBook (or, iBook, rather!) for sale on Apple's iBooks. I believe you can use the file elsewhere, but only if you offer it for free. It's been a bit of a controversy for that reason!
Hope this helps!

5DM3 is a WONDERFUL camera.
+Amy Heiden recently "took one for the team" via a full-force ocean wave, and her camera came out fine.
I call that a great litmus test. :)
