Bradley Wiggins 'never imagined' being favourite for Tour de France

Bradley Wiggins reveals he "never thought" he could be in a position to win the Tour de France despite predicting there could be a British winner "within 10 years" in 2008.

Speaking from his final pre-Tour training camp in Mallorca, the Team Sky rider says finishing fourth in 2009 "opened up the door of possibility" to focus on winning cycling's most famous race.

The 32-year-old three-time Olympic gold medallist has enjoyed a hugely successful 2012, winning the Paris-Nice, Tour de Romandie and Criterium du Dauphine, putting his success down to pure "hard work".
