    btw New kids On The Block is absolutly the biggest boyband ever. And the very first in the orginal meaning of the word boyband. Before them the groups weren't called boybands yet.

    Margie your completely right exapt for the part that boyband members don't write or play intruments, some do., speciale the older ones. They just don't play the instruments on stage.

    Oh Margie: if you knew anything about anything at all, you would know that the Beatles are considered the very 1st Boy Band ever. Do you even know what a Boy Band is???

    US magazine is rating top BoyBands and someone named Ghislaine asks "What about ABBA, the BeeGees, Beatles?" Do you even know what a boy band is? First, ABBA had 2 females in it, the BeeGees were not just a band but singers,songwriter, etc and the Beatles were one of the biggest rock bands ever. Boy Bands are a group of boys or young men who sing and dance, do not play instruments or write. They are nowhere near the same catagory of the artists you mentioned.

    @Ghislaine ABBA is not a boy band. They have two females in the band so that just makes them a Pop Band only.

After nabbing third place on The X Factor's seventh season, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson caught their rising star. Their debut American single "What Makes You Beautiful" went Platinum and their first U.S. tour sold out within hours. The Irish-British fivesome will hit the road again on their first international world tour in 2013.
