Working with the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) and other partners, the CDC Healthy Aging Program has supported healthy aging activities in selected state health departments since 2003. - History of Grant Programs
- Progress in States
To get a sense of the progress being made by state health departments to promote healthy aging, NACDD, with the support of CDC’s Healthy Aging Program, recently gathered information from state health departments on their needs, priorities, and activities related to older adult health. - SPARC—Sickness Prevention Achieved through Regional Collaboration
SPARC is a locally based collaboration dedicated to helping all residents of the region extend and improve the quality of their lives through disease prevention. SPARC brings together medical and public health practitioners to create local strategies to increase the availability and use of preventive care services. These efforts are strengthened by the participation of community associations, businesses, and local, state, and federal agencies.
