Announcement of the August 9, 2012 NHIS Data Users Workshop

Attendees at NCHS' 2012 National Conference on Health Statistics on August 6-8, 2012 in downtown Washington, DC may also want to attend the NHIS Data Users Workshop at NCHS headquarters in suburban Washington, DC all day on August 9.  Registration is required, separate, and free for the conference and the workshop.  For further information about the NHIS Data Users Workshop and to register for the Workshop, see NHIS coming events.

Announcement of American Public Health Association (APHA) Learning Institute Course

Monitoring the Public’s Health: Using Data from the National Center for Health Statistics

This course will introduce participants to the wide range of NCHS data sets, including those of the National Vital Statistics System, National Health Interview Survey, National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, National Survey of Family Growth, and National Health Care Surveys. Data collection methods, analytic considerations, and methods of data access will be discussed. Examples of how NCHS data have been used to understand the population's health, influences on health, health outcomes, and health care access and use will be presented.
