Fire Danger index valid time: Dissemination of the Fire Danger Statement has been discontinued for the Winter Season. Issuance of the product will resume again in the spring or sooner if the conditions warrant.

Fire Weather at NWS Bismarck

 

The professionals at the National Weather Service forecast office in Bismarck, ND are responsible for weather, hydrologic, and climate data for 36 counties in western and central North Dakota.  During fire season, these folks closely monitor and forecast for the public conditions that may result in extreme rural fire behavior, and provide federal, state, and local agencies with forecast data like wind speed and relative humidity values that are important to the fire community as they conduct prescribed burns and plan for and react to wildfires.
