Official Pest Reports are provided by National Plant Protection Organizations within the NAPPO region. These Pest Reports are intended to comply with the International Plant Protection Convention's Standard on Pest Reporting, endorsed by the Interim Commission on Phytosanitary Measures in March 2002.

The Blueberry maggot regulated areas within Canada was recently updated to reflect on-going CFIA surveillance activities. The regulated areas within Canada are now defined as follows:

Nova Scotia - all areas.

New Brunswick - all areas.

Prince Edward Island - all areas.

Ontario - Charlotteville Township, Wainfleet Township, and seven individual producer sites in southwestern Ontario.

Québec - The City of Trois-Rivières and the following municipalities: In the MRC of Le Haut-Saint-Laurent: Saint-Chrysostome, Havelock, Franklin, Ormstown, Howick; in the MRC of Les Jardins-de-Napierville: Saint-Édouard; in the MRC of Le-Haut-Richelieu: Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Valentin; in the MRC of Brome-Missisquoi: Frelighsburg, St-Sabine, East Farnham; in the MRC of Joliette: Saint-Thomas; in the MRC of Rivière-du-Loup: Saint-Antonin, Notre-Dame du Portage; in the MRC of Bonaventure: St-Elizéar; also, individual producer sites in the MRC of Haute-Yamaska: Bromont; and in the MRC of Les Jardins-de-Napierville: Hemmingford, St-Patrice-de-Sherrington, St-Bernard-de-Lacolle; in the MRC of Joliette: St-Paul.

Under IPPC Standards (e.g., ISPM No. 8), the Blueberry maggot is considered present (only in some areas) and subject to official control in Canada. For more information on Blueberry maggot, please visit the CFIA website at www.inspection.gc.ca.
