    Teachers should work in both state and independent schools

    I sometimes wish that all teachers were actively encouraged to work in both sectors at some stage in their career. It would certainly result in less prejudice and greater mutual respect.

    Why I became a teacher...

    Teaching can, at times, be a thankless profession but we seem to be addicted. I am always being warned not to hug the kids but I do anyway and they hug me back which makes my day.
