County Executive Search Survey

A national search will begin soon for the next Fairfax County Executive as Anthony Griffin will retire in April after 12 years in the position.

The Board of Supervisors, who will hire the next county executive in the coming months, wants your input through a survey by Jan. 23. Your ideas and thoughts will advise Board members about what qualities and experiences it should look for in candidates, as well as issues and challenges facing the eventual chosen candidate.

At the direction of the Board of Supervisors, the county executive leads the day-to-day operations of county government (view organizational chart). This leader prepares the budget, fosters partnerships with residents, business and community leaders, identifies strategic issues facing the county, and encourages cross-department and regional collaboration.

Please take a few minutes to answer a few short questions. Thank you for your time!
