The standalone JavaFX 2.0.2 SDK is recommended for developers using JDK 6u26 through 7u1.

The JavaFX SDK includes the JavaFX libraries, the JavaFX Runtime and project files you need to get started. You may use the JavaFX SDK by itself, or with your favorite Java IDE to leverage debugging, profiling, and other IDE features. You must have the Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6 Update 26 or higher installed on your system in order to use the JavaFX SDK.

JavaFX Runtime

The JavaFX Runtime provides the runtime environment required for running JavaFX desktop applications and applets. The JavaFX Runtime installer is included with the JavaFX SDK, or you can download it separately here.

Starting with Java SE 7 Update 2 and JavaFX 2.0.2, the JavaFX Runtime is co-installed every time the JRE is installed. The JavaFX Runtime is also installed with the JavaFX SDK, but you can still download a stand-alone version of the JavaFX Runtime here.

Older releases of the JavaFX platform are available here . Please note that applications targeted at JavaFX 1.3.1 or older cannot be developed with JavaFX 2.0.2, but will continue running on older versions of JavaFX Runtime, until older versions reach their end of life.
