Romero James Spellmon, Jr. is wanted for his alleged involvement in the murder of a war veteran on April 10, 2005, in Minnesota. It is alleged that Spellmon and an accomplice, who are reported gang members, were turned away from a cookout that was held at a residence in Minneapolis and attended by rival gang members. Then, Spellmon and his accomplice allegedly obtained pistols and fired at the residence from across the street, killing the victim, who was not a gang member. The victim was on leave from the military at the time of the shooting. Spellmon's accomplice has been arrested, however Spellmon is at large.

Spellmon was charged with murder and a state arrest warrant was issued on April 15, 2011, by the Hennepin County District Court in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A federal warrant was issued for Spellmon's arrest by the United States District Court, State and District of Minnesota, on July 12, 2011, after he was charged federally with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Spellmon reportedly is a "Bloods" gang member. He may have travelled to Illinois, and the Kansas City, Missouri area where he has ties.
