January 6, 2012 Nationally, wildland fire activity is light. Two new large fires were reported in Montana, which are expected to be contained today. Seven large fires are currently burning throughout the southern states. Weather: Scattered snow is predicted or the northwestern states as well as the northern and central Rockies. Weather conditions will remain cool and dry across the West through the week. Rain and thunderstorms are predicted to much of the South and snow to the Northeast and Great Lakes through mid-week. |
