Golden files suit to stop Jefferson Parkway land swap

Superior filed similar suit last month; Broomfield Mayor Quinn thinks compromise still in reach
Less than a month after opposition to the Jefferson Parkway appeared to be softening, Broomfield officials on Monday met with other parkway stakeholders to discuss a lawsuit aimed at blocking the beltway's progress, which was filed last week by Golden.  Full Story

Westminster police on Tuesday announced they made two arrests in connection with the Veterans Day robbery of a 91-year-old Marine Corps veteran. Jose Luis Pizarro, 33, and Jill Erickson, 44, were arrested Friday in connection with the robbery, in which the veteran was followed home from a shopping trip to a Broomfield grocery store and attacked in his driveway.   Full Story

Not long ago, I was decorating for the wedding of a friend's son. Three other ladies were responsible for the food served at the occasion. I was standing in the hallway of the facility by the kitchen talking to one of those ladies, Deborah Eck, who also is a patron at the Paul Derda Recreation Center. While we were talking, she bent over to reach some food that was on a low shelf of a nearby cart. She moaned a little while bending down, and took some extra time in standing up.
