Children of Bodom Announce 15th Anniversary Tour Dates

Spinefarm

Children of Bodom have announced a North American headlining tour in celebration of the band's 15th Anniversary.

The trek will kick off on Jan. 30 in Rochester, N.Y. and run through Mar 4, hitting 26 cities over the course of the five week jaunt. Support on the anniversary tour will come from Swiss folk-metal band Eluveitie, Boston extreme metallers Revocation and Canada's Threat Signal.

Children of Bodom continues to tour the globe in support of its latest album, 2011's 'Relentless Reckless Forever,' which landed at #41 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of release. 15 years into its career, COB continues to grow its ever-expanding fan base via supercharged live shows that have also made fans of some of hard rock's biggest names. Longtime metal vocalist and reality TV star Sebastian Bach jumped on stage and expressed his love for the band at a COB show in Los Angeles this past summer (see video below) while Laiho was invited to join Deftones on stage in COB's hometown of Helsinki for a joint performance of the band's 'Root.'

Electric Sun Announce Debut EP

Misha Zilman

New York City rockers, Electric Sun, just announced Nov. 15 as the release date for their debut EP, 'The Gilded Cage.' The 5 song collection was co-produced by lead singer Vlad Holiday and Dean Baltulonis (Brand New, Madball), was recorded in Queens, N.Y.

The lead single, 'Don't Look Back,' is currently available as a free download on the band's Facebook page. A clip of another track, 'Fuel to the Fire,' is also available here.

After a year and a half of writing songs about optimism, something Holiday explains he found "by sitting back and viewing other people's negativity" he presented the material to his long time friends. Holiday's goal is to "inspire people to do great things... I want to add soundtracks to their lives and give them a bit of extra fuel to get through the day."

Motörhead Cancel Concert Due to Lemmy's Hand Injury

FilmMagic

Motörhead bassist/vocalist Lemmy Kilmister has sustained an injury to his left hand, rendering the 65-year-old rocker unable to play and thus forcing the band to cancel its concert at Colston Hall in Bristol, England last night (Nov. 8).

The following statement was issued via the venue's Twitter feed: "Due to injury, Motorhead have canceled their Colston Hall show tonight. Watch this space for returns/new date info. We are working with Live Nation to try to reschedule... We'll let you know when we know what will happen re: rescheduling/refunds."

Motörhead have a batch of dates remaining on this tour through the U.K. The next scheduled date is Nov. 11 at the UEA in Norwich, U.K. The band plays the Hammersmith Apollo in London on Nov. 12. They wrap this run of U.K. dates at the O2 Apollo in Manchester on Nov. 18.

Steven Tyler Creates Cabbage Patch Doll for a Good Cause

Children's Action Network

What image is conjured up by the descriptors "cute", "cuddly," and "children's toy?" If you answered Steven Tyler, then shame on you. I know young children who have burst into tears of horror simply at seeing his face in a magazine.

So perhaps it was an attempt at revamping his image when Steven Tyler decided to launch his very own children's toy. According to Metal Hammer, the Aerosmith singer has had his own Cabbage Patch Doll commissioned. Perhaps it was just to distract people from his newly broken face.

The doll is being auctioned on eBay, and bidding will be open until Nov. 17. The current bid is already north of $600, so you better be prepared to drop some serious loot if you actually want to purchase this. All proceeds go to charity, so one can at least find some solace in spending a serious amount of cash on something that should never have existed in the first place.

Gojira Sign New Record Deal

Alex Morgan

Roadrunner Records announced today the addition of French metal behemoths Gojira to the label. The band is universally recognized as one of the most talented and extreme art-metal acts on the scene today.

"We are so stoked to walk with the legendary Roadrunner," Joe said about the new partnership. "We discovered Sepultura, Machine Head, Death, Fear Factory and so many other great bands thanks to these guys. Roadrunner has been a great source of inspiration for us as metal fans. It's an honor to be part of this family today as a band. We feel we'll get the right support at the right moment in our career. We cannot wait to release our new record and get back on the road."

The band's Roadrunner debut will be its fifth album overall. It was 2005's 'From Mars to Sirius' and 2008's 'The Way of All Flesh' which established Gojira as a metal force of nature and a key player in the scene. The band will record in New York City, also the label's headquarters, in November 2011, with a spring 2012 release date being eyed. Joe Duplantier will serve in a co-producer capacity along Josh Wilbur (Lamb of God).

O'Brother Cite Converge and Mogwai as Influences, Craft a Gem With 'Lo'

Stunt Company

Citing everyone from Torche and Converge to Isis and Mogwai as influences, O'Brother craft the kind of songs that defy the usual genre tags. Their wildly eclectic sound has helped them share live bills with bands like Manchester Orchestra, The Dear Hunter and Cage the Elephant. Signed to Favorite Gentlemen, the Atlanta-based quintet will be releasing 'Garden Window, their debut album, next week.

O'Brother is currently out on tour with Thrice, a band known for reinventing its sound every few years. "I think that is one thing we all respect about Thrice, the way they've evolved over the years. We would never want to release an album of songs that sound the same, much less three or four. I think trying to recreate the same thing over and over again would begin to feel a little stagnant after a while," O'Brother vocalist/guitarist Tanner Merritt tells Noisecreep.

Noisecreep wants you to experience their music for yourself, so we got our hands on 'Lo,' a track off 'Garden Window.'
