Jaron & the Long Road to Love Featuring Big Kenny, 'Beautiful Lies' -- Story Behind the Lyrics

It's not always artists or record labels who choose which songs will be radio singles. Sometimes it's the fans. Or "FRANS" (a combination of friends and fans) in the case of Jaron & the Long Road to Love's latest hit, 'Beautiful Lies,' featuring Big Kenny. Back in April, Jaron released a tune his twin brother Evan co-wrote, 'It's a Good Thing,' but just a few weeks later, he and Big Kenny not only recorded their new song but posted a YouTube video of themselves performing it, causing a FRAN-frenzy over the gorgeous tune. So, the 'good' stepped aside for the 'beautiful' ... no offense to Evan.

Jaron sat down with The Boot to talk about his musical chemistry with Big Kenny, the inspiration behind their song and why releasing it to radio was beyond his control.

I met Big Kenny just a few weeks before we recorded this. A buddy introduced us over e-mail. I was like, "Big Kenny, I'm a huge fan. I'd love to meet you." He said, "Why don't you come over to the house?" In 15 minutes, he looked at me and was like, "Why are you here?" I just looked down and was like, "A buddy thought we'd make ... uh .... a good couple." [laughs] I was literally so surprised by his honesty. It wasn't a rude question; it was genuine. To him, it was probably more profound, like, "Why are we meant to be?" He wanted to see if I could define it.

Craig Morgan Brings 'This Ole Boy' to Radio

Craig Morgan's first single on Black River Entertainment, 'This Ole Boy,' heads to radio June 21. The tune, which was written by Ben Hayslip, Dallas Davidson and Rhett Akins, is described as a sing-along country love song. Not only is it his debut song on the label, but it's also the title track of Craig's sixth studio album, which is expected to hit stores in the beginning of 2012.

"When you go out and buy an album, and I've done it myself, you sometimes feel, 'Well
the songs on the radio were great but the rest was OK,'" the singer acknowledges. "When they
play this record, I want them to say, 'Man, I like the songs on the radio, but I love this other song even better!' That's what's rewarding about an album."

Jason Aldean's Next Album May Include Hip-Hop Help

Jason Aldean took his duet, 'Don't You Wanna Stay,' with pop star Kelly Clarkson to the top of the charts, and now the Georgia native says he is considering a song for his new album with another artist that is decidedly not country.

"Probably a pretty good chance [of collaborating with a hip-hop artist]," he tells Billboard. "Probably quicker than you might think, as a matter of fact. So we'll have to see. I don't want to let the cat out of the bag on that too much, but we've got a couple things in the works."

The multi-platinum selling singer surprised fans when he showed off his rapping skills in his current single, 'Dirt Road Anthem,' also surprising millions of viewers on Wednesday's CMT Awards when he performed the song alongside famed rapper Ludacris. But that isn't too far of a stretch from Jason's musical tastes.

Shania Twain Responds to CMT Music Awards Fall

Jason Merritt, Getty Images

"I don't need a stunt double," Shania Twain joked a mere minutes after taking a nasty fall on her way to the stage to present Blake Shelton with the 2011 CMT Music Award for Male Video of the Year. Luckily, the singer didn't hurt herself in what she calls "one of life's most embarrassing moments" -- tumbling on live television on what appeared to be a recently waxed floor.

Watch a clip of Shania's fall below, followed by a video response to the accident, which she posted on her Twitter page just minutes after the show.

Taylor Swift, Shania Twain Channel 'Thelma & Louise'

In what was arguably the most clever opening in the history of the CMT Music Awards, Taylor Swift and Shania Twain went on one memorable road trip. In a parody of the classic movie, 'Thelma and Louise,' the fellow female superstars jump in their blue convertible and leave the guys in the dust -- including comedian Ron White, 'Glee' actor Chord Overstreet and CMT Awards host Kid Rock. Throw in a few more surprise celebrity cameos, and hilarity ensues.

Thelma and Louise, a.k.a. Shania Twain and Taylor Swift, opened the star-studded CMT Music Awards with a hilarious skit that set the tone for the night: great music mixed with a lot of fun. Show host Kid Rock kept the comedy going in his own skit with Wynonna, as the rocker's opening lines were hijacked by the country legend, who sang a few lines of a new song, 'Hell Yes, I'm Country,' and quipped, "This isn't MTV. This is CMT, son."

And CMT put on quite a show. Comedy was balanced with some explosive musical surprises, including two-time winners the Band Perry singing Rihanna and Eminem's 'Love the Way You Lie' before their own 'You Lie' and Lady Antebellum tackling Prince's classic 'Kiss' just after their own new single, 'Just a Kiss.' Jason Aldean closed the show with 'Dirt Road Anthem,' as Ludacris rapped alongside him. Toby Keith debuted a brand-new song, 'Made in America,' while Sugarland played their fan-favorite, 'Stand Up,' accompanied by Missouri tornado victims on stage.
