Vice President's Schedule

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and then meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in a CBS News Townhall Meeting on the Economy at the Newseum in Washington, DC. The travel pool will accompany and there will be a stills only spray. The town hall meeting is embargoed until broadcast.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with the Senate Democratic Caucus in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building to discuss the range of important issues on the legislative agenda, including the need to adopt a balanced approach in confronting the nation’s long-term deficit challenges. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President and the First Lady will host a celebration of American poetry and prose in the East Room by welcoming accomplished poets, musicians and artists as well as students from across the country to the White House. The President will deliver remarks and Dr. Biden will also attend. The President’s remarks are pooled press.
