San Leandro's Got Talent is a new city-wide teen talent show and fundraiser for teen programs. We're looking for talented teens who can sing, dance, juggle, play an instrument, rap, do spoken word poetry, you name it! Audition applications are due January 8, and can be brought to the San Leandro Main Library or the City of San Leandro Recreation Department. As part of The Big Read Program, the Manor Library presents a Story Quilt Art Workshop for kids in grades K-5 on Saturday, January 19 and Saturday, January 26 from 2 PM to 3:30 PM.
The two-part art workshop will be led by an artist from MOCHA, the Museum of Children’s Art. Kids will listen to a reading of Faith Ringgold’s picture book, Tar Beach and then will create their own story quilt using paper.
The story quilts will be displayed at Manor Library. Registration is required and space is limited. Register by completing the form on the Manor Story Quilt Art Workshop Flyer (see link below) or by calling the Manor Library Information Desk at 510-577-7971.
