Buckingham Palace Royal Wedding Display; Kate Middleton’s Dress, Shoes Among Memorabilia (VIDEO)

Buckingham Palace is trending as the home of the British monarchy opens for the summer and displays memorabilia from the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Kate's wedding dress is of course the centerpiece of the exhibit, but also on display are the duchess' shoes, her diamond earrings (inspired by the Middleton family's new coat of arms), and the headpiece she wore on the April 29 wedding.

One can even view the grandiose royal wedding cake, which includes the first and evidently only cut made by the bride and groom.

Prometheus Sneak Peek at Comic-Con; Ridley Scott Discusses Latest in Alien Franchise (VIDEO)

Prometheus, the latest Alien movie, is trending after Comic-Con attendees were given a sneak peek.

On a panel moderated by co-writer Damon Lindelof, director Ridley Scott appeared via live feed from Iceland, where he is currently filming. While Scott says Prometheus will share DNA with the original 1979 blockbuster, "everything else will be original."

Charlize Theron was also on the panel to discuss her shadowy character from the film.

This is Scott's first sci-fi film since 1982's Blade Runner, and while he's looking to answer lingering questions from Alien, he says his ultimate goal with the movie is to "scare the living shit out of you."

Google Labs Shut Down,: Latest Restructuring Move by CEO Larry Page (VIDEO)

RIP Google Labs. The search engine giant is shuttering its public access software development site in hopes of finding more efficient production methods.

The move is a bit surprising since it seems to reverse Google's long-standing policy of open-door experimentation by its own team and the public.

The Labs, which existed to encourage users to explore new software and aid in its ongoing development, is being put on ice by Google CEO Larry Page, who recently also eliminated Google Health and Google Power Meter.

Along with the introduction of a new social network—Google+—to compete with Facebook, Page is apparently purging services in an effort to streamline Google's product development in all Internet markets.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Details Released; Pre-Order Sales Under Way for Highly Anticipated Game (VIDEO)

Star Wars: The Old Republic is trending after Bioware announced it’s now accepting pre-orders.

The multi-player online game has been building buzz at conventions and has gamers chomping at the bit, thanks to its delayed release and slow trickle of artwork and cinematics.

The pay-to-play game is currently available for pre-ordering in three price ranges: the standard no-frills for $60, the $80 digital deluxe, and $150 collector’s/über-nerd edition.

The high prices have gamers wondering whether the company is trying to recoup their 300-million dollar investment or if it's really that good.

Spanx Buzz Returns, Thanks to Khloe Kardashian’s Accidental Flash (VIDEO)

Spanx is trending after Khloe Kardashian accidentally flashed photographers her slimming undergarment.

Mrs. Odom isn't the first celebrity to bring awareness to the name-brand body shaper meant to smooth out bulges without the discomfort of yesterday's body-contouring corset and girdle.

Ever since Oprah gave it a thumbs-up in 2000, Spanx has dominated the shape-ware market, inspired scads of knockoffs, and become prime joke material.

In 2010, Spanx started manufacturing upper and lower body garments for men, and Tom Hanks emerged as a huge fan.

Apple Releases OS X Lion; New Operating System Borrows From iPhone and iPad Software (VIDEO)

The Apple Store is trending on the launch of the computer giant's latest operating system, OS X Lion.

Available as a $30 download from the online store, Lion seeks to simplify the personal computer by borrowing from iOS, the software behind the iPhone and iPad.

That influence is felt most notably in a new feature called Launchpad, which fills your desktop with a grid of icons you can shuffle around and use to launch programs.

Those who want to avoid the 4GB download and also wait out the initial bugs will be able to purchase a USB thumb drive with Lion for $69 sometime in August.

Wendi Deng Murdoch Smacks Pie-Throwing Protester Who Targeted Rupert Murdoch at Phone-Hacking Hearing at Parliament (VIDEO)

Wendi Deng Murdoch, the third wife of media tycoon Rupert Murdoch, is trending after she leapt to her husband’s defense—literally—during his testimony before the British Parliament.

As the chairman of the News Corporation was answering questions about the phone-hacking scandal that is rocking his media empire, a protester burst into the hearing room and tried to “pie” him. Mrs. Murdoch, a former volleyball player, sprung into action, slapping the assailant as he lunged at his target.

No one was injured. The pie thrower was arrested and the hearing resumed about 10 minutes later once order was restored.

Rebecca Black Releases New Song; Will “My Moment” Go Viral Like “Friday” Did? (VIDEO)

Rebecca Black is extending her 15 minutes of fame.

The 14-year-old, whose cringe-worthy “Friday” video became a runaway viral sensation, has released a follow-up on her YouTube channel. “My Moment” is a self-conscious reflection on Black’s improbable rise to household-name status.

“Friday” unleashed a torrent of ridicule and then a backlash against the haters on its way to 167 million views and eventually a copyright dispute that split Black and her producers at Ark Music Factory.

The eighth-grader parlayed her instant celebrity into a cameo in a Katy Perry video. And none other than Lady Gaga proclaimed Black a “genius.”

For all that, Rebecca Black is the most popular topic on Twitter so far in 2011, surpassing Gaga, Justin Bieber, and even Charlie Sheen.

Cheap Trick Stage Collapses; Storm Blows Away Platform During Bluesfest in Ottawa  (VIDEO)

Cheap Trick may rock hard, but Mother Nature rocks harder. At the Ottawa Bluesfest in Canada, the veteran band abandoned their set just minutes before a sudden storm destroyed most of the stage, blowing the collapsed structure on to an adjacent road.

While several people were injured, Rick Nielsen and the rest of the band escaped unharmed. The wayward stage was pushed away from thousands of concert-goers, averting any possible tragedy.

Another example of Nature's, formidable power… or her taste in music.

Muse front man Matt Bellamy also used the social media site to announce his and actress Kate Hudson's new baby last week, making Twitter  a sort of stork for the 21st century.
