Civil Rights Assistant Secretary to Address National Association Of Federal Education Program Administrators

Russlynn Ali, assistant secretary for the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), will address the National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators' 2011 conference Monday, March 28 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington. Ali will discuss reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and OCR's role in ensuring equal access to education and promoting educational excellence through vigorous enforcement of civil rights. She will highlight what the association's members can do to strengthen their ability to meet the needs of the most at-risk students in America.

About 300 administrators of federal education programs are expected.
