U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan to Visit Minneapolis Friday

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give a keynote address at "Best in Class: Building a World Class Education System," a Minnesota Chamber of Commerce event to build community awareness and support for education. The keynote will take place from 12-12:45 p.m. at the Hilton Minneapolis and Towers. His remarks will discuss the role businesses can play in education reform.

At 2 p.m., Duncan will join U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-Minn at Crystal Lake Elementary School in Lakeville, Minn. Duncan and Kline will visit several classrooms with Principal Bill Mack. Friday’s school visit marks Duncan’s first event with Kline since he assumed the role of chairman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee.
