Assistant Secretary Alexa Posny, whose Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) administers the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), will deliver the luncheon address at the IDEA Partnership Project meeting Tuesday in Alexandria.

Posny will discuss OSERS' agenda and the administration's education reform goals. She will highlight the importance of collaboration and partnership in addressing the needs of all children, recognizing the IDEA Partnership's success in substantively engaging stakeholders to improve outcomes for children and youth with disabilities.

The IDEA Partnership reflects the collaborative work of more than 50 national organizations, technical assistance providers, and organizations and agencies at the state and local level, many of whom are grant recipients of OSERS. Together with OSERS' Office of Special Education Programs, the partner organizations form a community with the potential to transform outcomes for students with disabilities.

Funded through the Research to Practice Division of OSEP, the IDEA Partnership is part of OSEP's National Technical Assistance and Dissemination Network. Its purpose is to engage partner organizations representing policy makers, service providers, parents and local administrators in the shared implementation of IDEA.
