Education Secretary Discusses Education Reform with Moderate Senate Democrats

Education Secretary Arne Duncan will hold a press conference with U.S. Senators Kay R. Hagan (D-N.C.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and other moderate Democrats at 9:15 a.m. on March 2 to outline specific goals for education reform. In addition to Sens. Hagan and Bennet, who have teamed up to lead this effort, Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), Mary Landrieu (D-La.), Thomas Carper (D-Del.), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.) will attend the press conference.

The event will be held at Walker-Jones Education Campus, a K-8 school. Following the press conference in the school’s library, Duncan and the senators will tour the school with Principal Melissa Martin.
